Batman Video Game Deal

My husband brought this one to my attention (shocking I know) and thought I should bring it to everyones attention on here. Apparently Toys R Us is doing a good deal on Batman: Arkham Asylum video game tomorrow. If you go and pick it up between the hours of 10am and 2pm they will give you a $30 gift card back! So that makes the game 1/2 price! Pediasure

So as many of you know my 2 1/2 year old son has a condition called Alagille Syndrome that affects his liver and his heart. He is very small for his age, only 22 lbs right now. So the Drs are trying to find ways to be able to help him with his growth stimulation. They have said that he is eating very well on his own and the dietitions are very happy with his consumption. So, they are going to try him on Pediasure, drinking 2 bottles a day in addition to his diet. I went to the store to look at the Pediasure and pick some up for him and noticed that at my local store they are $10.49/6 pack of bottles. So with him drinking 2 a day that would be 14 bottles a week, so approx. $25/week in Pediasure alone! So what I am asking is if anyone has seen any good deals on Pediasure or if there are any coupons out there could you please let me know? We are going to talk to our insurance company to see if they can help us out at all, but who knows. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Target shopping trip 6/3

I was able to get everything in the picture above for $.40!!! Using manufactures coupons stacked with Target coupons along with sales worked out great!

Sorry I did not get a picture of these since my 2 year old could not wait to eat his 'falffles' but let me tell you this recipe for waffles is really yummy. Check it out HERE. This is also a great recipe to double and make a batch for the freezer. After they cool off just wrap them in plastic wrap or separate with wax paper, put in a gallon freezer bag and pop in the freezer. Then whenever you want just pull one out, put it in the toaster and have a really simple lunch for you or your kids! I do this a ton with my son since I know he will always eat a yummy waffle! These are so much better (and cheaper) than the frozen variety you can get at the store. I also do this whenever I make pancakes! :-)

05/19/09 Ham and Pineapple Kabobs over rice with 5 Cup Salad

Last nights dinner was amazing. I have made this before in a pan on the stove, but I was able to grill it last night and it was so much better!! I did line the grill with foil before grilling these because the sweet potatoes can be fragile and I did not want any of them breaking off and falling through the grill slats. Even my 2 year old son ate a bunch of the ham and some of the sweet potato! This 5 cup salad is also amazing and something that is requested that I make for a lot of pot lucks and BBQs every time I make it I am asked for the recipe and everyone is amazed at how simple it is!

5/14/09 Shortcut Chicken Cordon Blue with Orange Jello Parfait

I have made this one a few times and it is really simple to make (took me about 15 minutes to throw together) and is really yummy! My 2 year old even ate a bunch of the ham and chicken and the parfait of course :-) It is great because it uses some planned leftovers too. So it used some chicken that I grilled last week (and froze) and some of the ham that I made earlier this week too. If you don't have these items you can always get the already cooked diced ham and chicken that is at the grocery store (but it is much cheaper to make and freeze your own). For the recipe check it out HERE. The parfait recipe sounds kinda weird, but trust me it is really yummy! Just make sure you get the sour cream and jello mix stirred up really well so you don't get a gritty taste from the jello not dissolving all of the way.

Here is the coupon insert preview for this coming Sunday's paper!! Try to get your hands on as many inserts as you can. I personally get 2 papers delivered every week. When I am lucky enough to get double inserts in one of the papers it is like Christmas here!! lol If you have friends or family or neighbors that get the Sunday paper delivered and they do not use the coupons then ask for them! If you visit your local coffee shop or diner every Sunday morning and they have the Sunday paper out to read, grab the inserts! Or even at your local library if they stock the paper for patrons to read then go and grab the inserts! I have even heard of people asking at local gas stations or convience stores if they can have the inserts at the end of the business day on Sunday (since they are just going to throw them out) and they often give them for free! So the bottom line, do what you can to get as many inserts as you can! :-)

5/13/09 Fried Rice and Egg Drop Soup

Tonights dinner was homemade fried rice and egg drop soup. And no those are not our regular dishes in the picture, they are what we call durable 'toddler ware' (from IKEA by the way, they come in 5 packs for like a $1 or something like that) I have made this recipe many times before. It is really easy to make (only took me about 15 minutes to put together after the rice is cooked) and tastes just as good as take out, and is MUCH cheaper!! You can add cooked meat to it (chicken breast, pork roast etc) but tonight we had it vegetarian. It was very yummy and all of it was eaten!
